Drive.com.au asked: what's the biggest advance that could be made in cars, other than environmental developments? Here's what our bloggers think:"Satellite radio would be great in Australia - I've spent many hours listening to static and Christian country music.""How about something that cuts off the ignition or fuel supply if anyone sitting in the driver's seat touches a mobile phone?""In F1 they use solenoid-actuated valve gear, which allows infinite variable opening and closing durations. This should be in cars to negate the need for chains, gears, cams, springs, etc, which drain horsepower. Linked to a starter motor-generator for the extra zap, this will make engines more efficient and powerful.""It's nearly 2010 and I want my flying car!""Increase highway speed limits to 130km/h. For super highways, 150km/h. Complete with proper education, slow lanes, policing of aggressive lane changers and tailgaters and roadworthy inspections yearly. We would see reduced death tolls, a greater respect of speed and other drivers and less delays. If the rest of the developed world can do it, why not us?"drive.com.au/blogs
